A synthesizer produces musical sounds by way of using electricity to create signals at various frequencies. This is then played out via a loud speaker or into some headphones. Synthesizers are able to imitate other instruments as they are capable of providing a great number of sounds. These instruments are programmed with many algorithms. These all have their strong points and weak points. Some of the technologies that are used in these synthesizers include physical modeling synthesis, additive synthesis, korg synth, sample-based synthesis, frequency modulation synthesis among many others. Some other synthesis sound methods such as sub harmonic and organular synthesis are regularly found in music synthesizers with hardware. To control a synthesizer normally a piano style keyboard is used. These instruments are sometimes referred to as keyboards. Synthesizers have been made to look similar to guitars, violins and many other musical instruments and also some wind instruments too. The synthesizers that operate without controllers are often referred to as “modules” and these are controlled by DV/Gate or MIDI methods. Synthesizers can produce the same or similar sounds as the real thing and you can get them in any music store. The overall cost will be less too and you will get the shape looking thing.
